ARREST IN DEFIANCE COUNTY SHOOTING

The Defiance County Sheriff’s office reports an arrest has been made in connection with a shooting incident in the village of Sherwood.   At 9:24pm Monday night, a 9-1-1 call was received, indicating a male subject was trying to enter a home, and had fired gunshots at the residence.   A description of the subject and a vehicle were provided.

About 20 minutes later, the highway patrol made a traffic stop on U.S. 24 at the Defiance-Paulding County line.   Taken into custody was 50 year old Stephen H. Shaw, Jr. of Oakwood.  Troopers charged Shaw with OVI, Marked lane violation, Possession of Marijuana, and Improper Handling of a Firearm.                 The Defiance County Sheriff’s office has sent the case to prosecuting attorney Morris Murray with additional charges including Burglary, and Discharging a firearm at a Habitation, both are felonies.
