DEFIANCE COUNTY APPROVES GRANT FOR VORTEX PROPERTY

A grant from the Ohio EPA is helping Defiance County move forward with testing on a brownfield site they hope to turn-back into future development.  The location is the Vortex property on South Jackson Street near the railroad tracks in Defiance, and involves multiple parcels.  The $53,000 grant will help pay for testing of soil and water at the site; but it must be completed by the end of the year.  These studies will help Defiance County determine the cost to remediate the land to make it developable.  This is the second phase of the project for Defiance County Commissioners.
