DEFIANCE COUNTY ARRESTS

Law officers in Defiance dealt with a barricade situation Friday just before noon on Moss Street.  Police were attempting to serve an Order of Detention, when 38 year old Marcus Gonzales of Defiance barricaded himself in a room.  Negotiations failed, and law officers stormed into the house, arresting Gonzales without incident.  He has been charged with Obstructing Official Business and Assault on a Law Officer.  Marcus Gonzales was held at the regional jail.

And Friday at 4:08pm, the Defiance County Sheriff’s office made a traffic stop for a motorcycle travelling at a high rate of speed on state route 18 in Hicksville.  The operator identified himself with false ID, and then fled on foot.  He was tracked with the help of a canine unit, and identified as 41 year old Alexander Kendall of Bryan.  During the pursuit, the defendant discarded a container with 20 grams of alleged methamphetamine, along with bindles of heroin, and suspected LSD.    Kendall was charged with Possession of Drugs and was held over the weekend at CCNO.
