Cats and catfish were on the minds of Deshler Council Monday night. A resident addressed council about problems with felines roaming the town. Village solicitor Jim Rode will be looking into ordinances for enforcement.
A new mural has been created in downtown Deshler, painted by Dave Rickerd, and designed by Alex Hogrefe. It was painted at 107 E. Main with a theme of Deshler history.
A police committee meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 9th, and council went into executive session to discuss the possible purchase of property, but no action was taken.
Upcoming events in Deshler include a King Catfish tournament at the reservoir on Saturday October 7th through noon on the 8th. And trick-or-treating in Deshler was set for October 28th from 5 till 6pm. The parade will be held that day at 4 o’clock.
