AHA Issues New Heart Health Guidelines

Doctors with the American Heart Association say "don't skip breakfast!" That's one of several suggestions made in a new report on how Americans should eat to improve their heart health and control their weight. The report says eating breakfast every day assists in maintaining better metabolism and insulin levels.

The doctors also concluded that the size of meals doesn't matter much, as long as the amount of calories remains the same. The researchers determined that periodic fasting may also be good for weight loss, but the jury's still out on whether the weight will stay off. As for you later eaters, the AHA said how the time of day people eat impacts their health needs more study.
