NAPOLEON VIETNAM WAR VETS MAKE FINAL HONOR FLIGHT OF THE YEAR TO DC

A trio of Vietnam War veterans from Napoleon were part of the final Flag City Honor Flight of the year to the nation’s capital last week.  Roger Rathge, Lynn Rausch, and Russ Borstelman, are related thru marriage, and were the veteran’s making the trip to Washington DC.   What made it extra special, the three Napoleon Vietnam War Vets got to take their sons along as Guardians for the trip.     

Russ Borstelman graduated in the mid 1960’s from Napoleon, and served his country soon after, and was escorted by his son Ross. Roger Rathge served his country from June 1968, thru 1970; and had his son Adam as a guardian.  And Lynn Rausch served in the U.S. Military from March 1971-on.He was actually the 2,000th local veteran to make the Flag City Honor Flight, along with his son Andrew.          A total of 85 veterans made the final Flag City Honor Flight of the year last Tuesday, the day after Veterans Day.
