NEW ALUMINUM RECYCLING FACILITY HEADED TO DEFIANCE IN $253 MILLION PROJECT

A brand new aluminum recycling facility is headed to the city of Defiance. MetalX of Auburn, Indiana; a family-owned company, will be putting-up a building on a 190-acre site in the Enterprise Industrial Park on the west side of Defiance.Their plan is to recycle aluminum and create products for the automotive and beverage industries.   MetalX plans to hire about 180 employees, in a 253-million dollar project.   The plant would generate more than 14 million dollars in new annual payroll, and they expect to open the facility sometime in 2027.   Rail access was an important piece in locating the plant in the Enterprise Industrial Park of Defiance.
