Every county in northwest Ohio was at or below the state average for unemployment in the month of April. The numbers were released by Ohio Job and Family Services, and indicate Henry County was the only county in the region that had a jobless rate higher than the state average of 3.7%. Henry County checked-in at 4%, with Defiance County at 3.3, and Fulton County at 3.2% for unemployment in April. Several local counties were below 3% for their jobless rate, led by Putnam County at 2.3%. Williams County and Paulding County each hit 2.8% in their unemployment rates. Around the Buckeye State, the lowest unemployment was Mercer County at 1.9%; while Monroe County had the highest jobless figure at 5%.
