HICKSVILLE ELEMENTARY NAMED 'BLUE RIBBON SCHOOL' IN NATIONAL RANKING

There was only one local school named to the ‘Blue Ribbon’ list in the national recognition from the U.S. Department of Education. Hicksville Elementary was one of 13 Ohio schools to achieve the honor; and the only northwest Ohio district recognized in the ranking.                    The Blue Ribbon designation is based on 5 years of data, focused on the schools response to children’s learning and educational needs.   The application process included a 19-page battery of questions and narratives of student achievement.   Three representatives from the Hicksville School staff will travel to Washington DC this fall to receive the honor.   The Hicksville Elementary Principal is Kirsten Coffman.
