An early morning shooting incident in South Carolina has taken the life of a Defiance man. The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office was called early Wednesday morning concerning a fatal shooting at a residence in the community of Murrel’s Inlet, South Carolina, which is just south of Myrtle Beach. Killed in the shooting was 76 year old Jim Thomas of Defiance. It’s believed a daughter was injured in the shooting, along with the suspect in the crime. That suspect is being treated for injuries at an area hospital in South Carolina. Jim Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene by the Georgetown County Coroner. More details are expected to be released later today.
