A Montpelier man lost his life in a two-vehicle crash in Williams County Thursday. The highway patrol investigated the accident at 1:30pm Thursday, at the intersection of Williams County roads 13 and R in Bridgewater Township. Troopers report, 80 year old Howard W. Russell of Montpelier was northbound on road 13, when he failed to stop for the posted stop-sign. Russell’s vehicle was struck by an eastbound auto driven by 64 year old Sherrie M. Peterson of Pioneer. Howard Russell suffered critical injuries, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Sherrie Peterson sustained minor injuries; and was transported to Community Hospital and Medical Center in Bryan. The Williams County Sheriff’s Office assisted; along with Bridgewater Township Fire, and Williams County EMS.
