FEBRUARY 2022 JOBLESS NUMBERS FALL IN NW OHIO, BUT SOME STILL HIGH

The unemployment rates for local counties in northwest Ohio all fell during the month of February; but some were still above the state average. With Ohio’s jobless rate at 4.8% in February, both Henry County and Fulton County were above that figure. Henry County checked-in at 5.8% unemployment last month, while Fulton County hit 4.9%. Defiance County saw its jobless rate fall to 4.1%; and Williams County was lowest in the region at 3.8%.   That matched Putnam County’s rate; while Paulding County checked-in at 4.2% for their jobless number. Putnam County was the only area county to see the unemployment rate go-up in February, from 3.5 to 3.8%.                     

The lowest unemployment in the Buckeye State was Holmes County at 2.9%; while the highest jobless numbers were reported in Monroe County at 8.35 for February.
