At least 7 people were hospitalized following an incident at the Northwest Ohio Juvenile Detention Facility Sunday night near Stryker. The call was filed with the Williams County Sheriff’s office Sunday night around 7:30pm, when youth inmates began passing out and collapsing at the center. After testing of the air in the HVAC system, it was discovered that fentanyl had been released through the vents, and was causing health issues. 4 juvenile detainees, and 3 corrections officers were injured, and transported to area hospitals, including Bryan Hospital. It’s not believed there are any fatalities connected with this incident; but the investigation is ongoing. It is a felony crime to bring fentanyl into a corrections facility.
