NEW PLASTIC DISPENSER COMPANY TO LEASE SPEC BUILDING IN DEFIANCE

A packaging company with a focus in the cosmetic industry is setting their sights on leasing the new spec building in the city of Defiance. ‘A Packaging Group’ is headquartered in California; and has plans to initiate operations in the 80,000 square foot facility on Commerce Drive in the Harmon Business Park on the northeast edge of Defiance. They expect to hire 135 people; and produce close to 150 million plastic cosmetic pumps as early as the first quarter of next year. The newly created Ohio Site Inventory Program was huge in attracting the company through a 2.6 million-dollar loan, along with a $565,000 grant. Defiance Mayor Mike McCann reports APG looked at sites all over the U.S., including other cities in Ohio. The nearly completed spec building was a critical draw for the company to expand in Defiance.
