NEW AUDITOR APPOINTED IN HENRY COUNTY

There is a new permanent county auditor in Henry County. The Henry County Republican Central Committee met Monday night , and interviewed three candidates, with Liz Fruchey selected for the position. Fruchey has served in the auditor’s office for more than 28 years, and has been significantly involved in the recent county budgetary process. Fruchey is a native of Gallia County in Ohio; and spent her school years in Defiance. She graduated from Defiance College with a B.A. degree in Accounting and Management. Liz Fruchey was first hired into the Henry County Auditor’s office by then county auditor, Jim Hoops. She is filling the unexpired term of Kevin Garringer, who left the county to take-over as finance director in the city of Napoleon. That means she will have to run for election to the auditor’s position in Henry County in 2022.Fruchey will be busy on the job early-on with 2 positions to fill in the Henry County auditor’s office. The official swearing-in ceremony for Liz Fruchey as Henry County Auditor will likely take place in the next few weeks after some state paperwork is complete.
