Ever since the Napoleon Elementary School opened on Westmoreland Avenue several years ago, there has been a bottle-neck for traffic before and after school. To make improvements, Napoleon City Council’s Municipal Properties committee has been considering a remedy that includes the addition of stop-signs at the intersection of Bales Road and Westmoreland Avenue. Napoleon Police Chief Dave Mack reports the discussion is focused on safety and traffic flow. The recommendation from the Napoleon Council Committee Monday night is to install two flashing stop-signs on Bales Road to stop traffic, which would allow traffic on Westmoreland to more easily flow onto Bales. The cost of the project would be about $2,500.
