JULY 2021 UNEMPLOYMENT NUMBERS IN NW OHIO ARE AT OR ABOVE STATE AVERAGE

Every county in the northwest corner of the state was at or above the Ohio average for unemployment in July. The latest figures were released by Job and Family Services indicating the unemployment rate overall in the state rose in July from 5.2 to 5.4%.Defiance County had the highest jobless number in the Four-County area last month at 5.7%.Henry County and Fulton County were each at 5.5% for unemployment; while Williams County was lowest in the Four County area at 5.4% in July. Putnam County had the lowest jobless rate in the region at 4.0%, and Paulding County checked-in at 5.2%.

Around the Buckeye State, the lowest unemployment in July was Holmes County at 3.7%; while the highest jobless numbers were found in Athens and Jefferson Counties at 8.1%.
