NEW AGRI-BUSINESS CHOOSES DEFIANCE COUNTY FOR COMPANY LOCATION

The Defiance County Commissioners have approved an enterprise zone tax abatement agreement for an agri-business seeking to locate between Hicksville and Sherwood. EnviroKure Ohio LLC chose Defiance County, and will be investing nearly 22-million dollars into the venture. Construction will begin on Rosedale Road in the Hicksville School District sometime this month, with hopes of operations getting underway the first or second quarter of 2022.Defiance County Economic Development Director Erika Willitzer reports the new company is hoping to hire up to 30 employees after production gets going, and have listed some jobs paying 20 to 22-dollars per hour. The enterprise zone tax abatement is for 75% for a ten-year period. EnviroKure is looking to construct a facility in the neighborhood of 20,000 square feet; and will be working with Hillendale Farms, which is also located east of Hicksville.
