VILLAGE OF LIBERTY CENTER FINDS RECORDS DATING BACK TO 1850'S

The groundwork is underway for a new Dollar General facility heading to the village of Liberty Center. It will be in the location of the previous Denny’s Grocery Store; and they have plans to open in early July. Liberty Center Council discussed a liquor permit application for the store at their meeting this past week; but tabled the issue for the time being.

There was dialogue concerning the malfunctioning fire siren on top of the grain elevator in Liberty Center, which the town will replace. But some funding options are being explored. Residents are encouraged to sign up for the Henry County weather alerts they can receive through their phone.

There was an amazing find in Liberty Center recently, when staff members came across a vault at the maintenance building for the Park on Cherry Street. They found ledgers and records dating back to 1851, including notes from the mayor’s court back at that time.
