FULTON COMMISSIONERS TURN DOWN REQUEST TO FUND FIRE EQUP. WITH EMS MONEY

The Fulton County Commissioners have awarded the contract for a bridge project, and discussed funding for fire equipment. After the discussion on whether to fund the salamander technology from the Fulton County EMS fund, the request from the Wauseon Fire Department was turned down. Even though the salamander is vital to locating people in fire situations, it was deemed to be an expense for fire response, and not for emergency medical services, which levy funds are to be used for. And the Fulton County Commissioners approved the bid of Miller Brothers Construction for replacement of a bridge on road 10.The low bid was about $196,000, which was about $4,000 under the engineer’s estimate.

And Fulton County is seeking bids for a road reconstruction project on county road H, near route 108.
