DEFIANCE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS INSPECT PROPOSED SITE FOR SOLAR FIELD

The Defiance County Commissioners hit the road to inspect the property proposed for a solar field in the area of Mark Center. The solar project would sit on a 660 acre parcel, with the land to be leased to the Candela company. They are working on a power purchase agreement for someone to take the renewable energy. Defiance County is considering a tax abatement for the project, and are in support. The solar field would generate about 90 to 100 megawatts of electricity; and if approved, construction would likely get underway in 2022 in the Mark Center area.
