When Covid-19 hit in March of this year, many local officials feared the worst in tax revenues to help pay for services and projects moving forward. But those worries have turned-around with year-end sales tax numbers hitting record-breaking territory. Henry County reports their December sales tax receipts at $412,675, which is up 10% over December 2019 figures. That takes the total sales tax revenue this year to nearly 4.59 million dollars. That total is about $263,000 higher than any previous year in Henry County sales tax history.
Fulton County is looking at the same scenario. Their final sales tax revenues for this year topped 8.7 million dollars, which is over $550,000 higher than their previous sales tax revenue record.
