PETTISVILLE LOCAL SCHOOLS OPEN WITHOUT SWITZER AS SUPT. FOR 1ST TIME

When the doors open at Pettisville Local School for this new year, a familiar face will be missing. For the first time in 39 years, Steve Switzer will not be leading the district as superintendent.Switzer retired over the summer, after well over 40 years in education, coming to Pettisville after an administrative stint with Holgate Local School.Taking over his superintendent duties will be Ken Boyer, on an interim basis for one year.Boyer is a Hilltop High School Grad, and has been superintendent of northwest Ohio districts like Leipsic, Hilltop, and North Central. He began duties on August 1st.Pettisville Schools will conduct a search for a new superintendent over the next year, likely shifting to a more aggressive mode this winter.Opening day for Pettisville students will include a staggered start on August 19th and 20th, with that Friday, August 21st set aside for a teacher workday and evaluation of the start-up.
