PATRICK HENRY SCHOOL BOARD APPROVES LEVY RENEWAL FOR BALLOT, RENOV. UPDATE

A final resolution was approved by the Patrick Henry School Board of Education that will lead to placement of an emergency levy on the November ballot. That action took place Monday night, seeking passage to continue the $746,000 in funds each year that are utilized for school operation.Due to the Rover pipeline running through the Patrick Henry district, the total amount of tax dollars paid by local residents on this same levy is proposed to fall by 45% from the first year of the levy, to 2021.

Rover Pipeline appealed their tax valuation to the state, even though they helped to set the rate. The state has denied their appeal; but the Rover company could file an appeal, which they have 60 days to do.

And the Patrick Henry board got an update on the renovations at the high school, with bleachers now being installed in the gymnasium.Roof work is complete, along with all H-vac units being installed. And there is still work being completed in the classrooms, hallways, and bathrooms.
