A request for a renewal levy has been sent to Defiance County Commissioners for the senior services program.Senior Services Director Amy Francis made the request to renew the 1.4 mill levy, and commissioners passed the first of two resolutions to place the issue on the November general election ballot.Francis stated the senior center needed additional revenue; but would not request it at this time. The 1.4 mill levy in Defiance County currently raises about 1.36 million dollars each year for senior programs and operation.Commissioners are reviewing more information from the Defiance County Auditor’s office before approving the levy for the general election.
