With the corona-virus affecting negotiations, the Defiance City School board passed a memorandum of understanding to extend the contract for staff members for the next year.Teachers and non-teaching employees of Defiance City Schools will each receive a 2.25% increase on the base pay.That impacts about 190 teachers, and 150 OAPSE staff members.
The board commended the principal and administration for pulling-off graduation and saluting students, despite the social distancing.
The Defiance School Board approved lunch prices to remain the same for the coming year, for students.A 25-cent increase for adult breakfast was recommended for approval.
And the board thanked all who were involved in serving 10,590 meals to the Defiance school families over the past few months, especially the community partners who gave to the cause.
