VILLAGE OF SHERWOOD APPLIES FOR GRANT DOLLARS TO REPLACE WATER TOWER

The village of Sherwood has applied for block grant funding to replace their 85 year old water tower that serves the town’s nearly 800 residents.Sherwood is seeking $500,000 toward the total project cost of $600,000.The replacement tower would be constructed behind the old school on Harrison Street, which is also state route 127.Defiance County Commissioners approved the grant application which is due by June 17th.The project would be submitted through the critical infrastructure program by Maumee Valley Planning Organization.
