A Thursday afternoon house fire sent multiple departments to the scene in Henry County yesterday.The blaze was reported around 2:45pm Thursday at 220 East North Street in McClure, sending McClure, Malinta, and Grand Rapids departments to battle the flames.Liberty Rescue and the South Joint Ambulance district also responded; but there were no reports of injuries.Crews were on the scene for nearly 3 hours.
The Henry County Sheriff’s office also investigated three injury accidents on Thursday.The first occurred at 12:49pm yesterday at Henry County roads J and 15, when a vehicle struck a utility pole and rolled onto its side.72 year old Barbara Bartels of Hamler suffered injuries, and was transported to the Henry County Hospital by Holgate EMS.
Then at 3:10pm yesterday, a truck and car collided at the intersection of state route 65 and county road P.A passenger in one of the vehicles, 19 year old McKenzie Curry of Oregon, Ohio sustained injuries, and was transported to the Wood County Hospital by the South Joint Ambulance District of Henry County.
And at 6pm Thursday, a motorcycle accident was checked-out on state route 18 at county road 7 near Hamler.53 year old Jerry Lugo of Ottawa was operating the motorcycle when it went off the road, ejecting Lugo.He was transported from the scene by Life Flight, and taken to St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.
The highway patrol investigated a fatal crash on the turnpike last night in Wood County around 9:30pm.Killed in the accident was 73 year old Charles Tenbroeck of Canton, Michigan who’s pickup struck a concrete barrier.
