ELECTION 2020 FOR DEFIANCE AND FULTON COUNTIES

There were over 7,000 absentee ballots counted in the Defiance County primary election that wrapped-up Tuesday.And by wide margins, Donald Trump and Joseph Biden, Jr. earned their party's nomination.In contested local races in Defiance County, unofficially, David Kern is the top vote-getter in the Republican race for county commissioner, with 1,526 votes.2nd place unofficially went to Patty Schafer with 1,502 votes, followed by Otto Nicely in 3rd place.

In the race for Defiance County Sheriff, incumbent Douglas Engel garnered 3,148 votes, to Gary Plotts with 1,515.

The Ayersville School income tax was defeated in the primary election 803 to 567.But the Hicksville tax levy for their hospital passed by a vote of 620 to 294.

Over in Fulton County, a continuing levy for permanent improvements in the Pettisville Local School district was defeated 471 to 166.And in a Republican race for county commissioner, incumbent Jon Rupp outpolled Dale Morgan 2,242 to 659.
