DEFIANCE TO HOST TOWN HALL INFO MEETING ON NORTHTOWN ESTATES E-COLI ISSUE

The city of Defiance is hosting a town-hall meeting on Thursday night to inform the public about what’s going on at the Northtown Estates manufactured home community.The Board of Health in Defiance County issued a public nuisance when e-coli was found on the back lot of the property, and in some storm sewers in the vicinity.That town hall will be at the city’s community room at 6:30pm tomorrow night, and its open to anyone.If the issue of e-coli is not taken care of, it could lead to license revocation at the property.Another town hall information meeting on this subject will be held next Tuesday at 11am at Defiance city hall.

And council hosted a public hearing to gather input about a CDBG block grant request, seeking $250,000 to help make renovations to two buildings in the300 block of downtown Defiance.The structures have been determined to be blighted; but the grant program is highly competitive.
