DEFIANCE MAN KILLED, THREE OTHERS INJURED IN FRIDAY NIGHT CRASH NEAR BRYAN

A Defiance man was killed, and three family members from Henry County suffered serious injuries in a Friday night crash in Williams County.The highway patrol investigated the accident on U.S. 6at 9:37pm, about 6 miles southeast of Bryan.33 year old Phillip Powell of Defiance was westbound on Route 6, and drove left-of-center, striking an eastbound SUV driven by 78 year old Roger Bostelman of Hamler.Phillip Powell suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.Roger Bostelman sustained serious injuries, and was transported by Life Flight to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.Two other passengers were also injured:75 year old Shirley Bostelman of Hamler, and 15 year old Brooke Bostelman of Deshler.They were taken to Bryan Hospital by Wiliams County EMS.Troopers report they believe impairment was a factor in the crash.
