DEFIANCE MAN INJURED IN PLANE CRASH IN PAULDING COUNTY

A Defiance man suffered injuries in an airplane crash investigated by the Paulding County Sheriff’s office Friday afternoon near Oakwood.The fixed wing single engine plane had just taken-off from a privately owned grass runway, when it crashed into a plowed field east of Paulding County road 163, north of road 138.35 year old Dustin A. Dobbelaere of Defiance was piloting the 1980 aircraft, and was the lone occupant.Dobbelaere suffered serious injuries; and was transported from the scene by Life Flight, to a hospital in Ft. Wayne.His condition is unknown.Oakwood Fire and Rescue assisted, and the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating with the Paulding County Sheriff’s office.
