At least four people are in custody in connection with an armed robbery and shooting incident that occurred Monday in Defiance County.Sheriff Doug Engel reports deputies responded to a welfare check on the Bend Road in Ney late Monday morning, and discovered the residents had been robbed at gunpoint.Multiple items were stolen from the home.Deputies later that day responded to a call of gunshots on Switzer Road, with shots fired at a residence.Then on Tuesday, when the MAN unit was executing warrants for a drug investigation, they discovered evidence related to the robbery and shooting incidents.Those warrants were for 21 year old Kayla Hahn of Napoleon, 24 year old Dylan Jordan of Bryan, and 21 year old Lake Daenens of Defiance.Those three subjects were taken to CCNO on the drug warrants.Another arrest was for 28 year old Tyler Rohrs of Defiance, charged with discharging a firearm into a residence.The investigation also led to a charge of Carrying a Concealed Weapon for 28 year old Jacob Frericks of Defiance.All these cases are being sent to the Defiance County prosecutor for further review of charges to be filed.
