DEFIANCE CITY SCHOOL BD. REVIEWS WORK AT COMMUNITY AUDITORIUM

With the installation of air conditioning at the Defiance Community Auditorium, the school board of education is looking at other improvements that can be made to the historic structure.Those projects include painting and other wall coverings.

Enrollment is holding steady in Defiance City Schools; but fewer students riding buses and fewer economically disadvantaged students has reduced some funding for the district.The board hired Jaaci Carr as a freshman boys basketball coach.And Defiance City Schools are looking at adding some portable WIFI units to school buses for athletes traveling for events.Many students do homework on the way to and from games, with an average of one-hour bus rides each way.Each unit would cost about $1,000, which the board is considering.
