The filing deadline is approaching for candidates and issues being submitted for the November general election.That deadline is next Wednesday, August 7th.
The 2019 general election will include balloting for offices like village and city councils and mayors, along with clerks.There will be contested races for township trustees and fiscal officers; along with school board candidates on the ballot.
The Henry County Board of Elections reports three candidates have filed for Napoleon city council, including John Ross Durham, Jeff Mires, and Dan Baer.Jason Maassel is running for mayor of Napoleon.
In Holgate, Ronald Tijerina has filed for mayor; while Gerald Branson, II has filed for mayor of Liberty Center.And so far, there is one candidate for school board, that’s Jeff Benson running for Liberty Center schools.
There are also two renewal levies that have been filed for the November ballot in Henry County- one for the village of Florida, and the other for Holgate Community Library.Both are for current expenses.
Again the deadline for candidates and issues to be filed for placement on the November general election ballot is August 7th at 4pm, at the local county board of elections.
