VIOLATIONS DISCOVERED AT KNIGHTS INN IN NAPOLEON

A complaint filed with the Napoleon Fire Department led to an investigation at the Knights Inn Hotel, located at 2395 North Scott Street in Napoleon on Tuesday morning.The state fire marshall’s office was called to the location, and multiple agencies were involved in the investigation, including the Henry County Health Deparment.The inspection revealed multiple violations including missing smoke alarms, cooking appliances were found in rooms, and there was observation of bed bugs, and other types of bugs in the facility.There were also violations noted for building codes, standing water in an unmaintained pool, tall grass and weeds, along with abandoned and junk vehicles on the property.City Manager Joel lMazur reported this property had a history of previous violations, and the city and state fire marshall’s office has issued another notice of violation.The original complaint regarded reports of mold in the building.
