DEFIANCE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS CONSIDER VETERANS ID CARDS, HIKE IN DOG FEES

The Defiance County Recorder’s office is considering a new service for veterans. The program would offer ID cards for local veterans at no cost, which they can use for benefits at many retailers to show they have served their country. The return time for the veterans ID cards would be about two weeks.

Defiance County Commissioners reviewed that program this week, and talked about a request to raise the fee for dog licenses. The current cost is $20 per year, per dog.But the new recommendation is to raise the license by 2 to 3-dollars to cover costs in that department.A cost study will be undertaken, followed by a public hearing on the matter in Defiance County.
