HENRY COUNTY BIG WINNER IN SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS THROUGH ODOT

The big winner on some safety transportation projects from ODOT was Henry County.ODOT has approved an 11-million dollar improvement at U.S. 24 and Henry County road 17-D just outside Okolona.The project will include an interchange, which should protect motorists and farm traffic trying to cross the four-lane highway.Construction of the new interchange at road 17-D on route 24 is anticipated in 2023.Henry County would spend 1 million dollars on the project, and another million is coming for ODOT-District 2.

More safety improvements on U.S. 24 will feature the closing of the median at the following intersections:County road P, road 16, Henry County road 17, and Banner School Road at the Henry-Defiance County line.

ODOT has also approved safety improvements at Scott Street and the bypass in Napoleon, on the north side of route 6 & 24.That’s a 3.5 million dollar project that will include a round-about.
