Instead of waiting for an investor, the Paulding County Community Improvement Corporation, and county revitalization office are taking action on their own.In an announcement Monday, the CIC reports they have purchased three downtown vacant buildings on South Main Street in Paulding for $120,000.The properties have already been cleaned-up for the most-part, and the next step is developing utilities and rehabbing the structures for future business. One of the parcels is the former Masonic Lodge building, which has an upstairs ballroom.Another has room for retail space with large garage doors. And there is another business storefront with an apartment upstairs.Paulding County is tapping into more funds available through the Toledo Port Authority for upgrading buildings.
Another public meeting to gather input on what the community would like to see in these downtown Paulding facilities will be held on June 27th.
