NW STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE AWARDS RECORD SCHOLARSHIP DOLLARS

A record in scholarship dollars was awarded to over 300 students at Northwest State Community College this spring.More than $650,000 was handed-out, thanks to donations from the area.

Featured speaker at the scholarship night was Kimberly Clingaman, a nursing student from Wauseon.She shared an emotional story of learning at a young age that she had Type-1 diabetes.Later at age 24, Clingaman became pregnant with a son, who developed numerous medical issues, enduring 17 surgeries.That child would pass away soon after the age of 10.She told the crowd at Northwest State Community College that the compassion and care nurses showed for her son compelled Kimberly to continue nursing studies in his honor.
