It’s been a busy month for the Defiance City School Board of Education.The board has interviewed 6 finalists for 2 vacant principal positions- one at the middle school, and the high school principal position vacated when Bob Morton was named Defiance superintendent.It’s likely those contracts for new principals will be awarded at the May 8th meeting.
Earlier in the month, the Defiance school board approved 25-cent increases in lunch prices for students, effective in the fall.Breakfast prices will also go- up 25-cents; and the adult lunches will increase by 50-cents.
The board accepted the retirement-resignation of Steve Maxey as assistant tech director after 34 years in the Defiance district.
And Korean War veteran Teddy Paxton was awarded a diploma at the recent board meeting.Paxton left school early to serve his country.Later he would return to Defiance Schools as bus driver.
