DEFIANCE POLICE ARREST 3 IN CONNECTION WITH THEFT OF FIREARMS

Police in Defiance report three persons arrested following a break-in at a gun shop in the city, where firearms were stolen.Defiance Police report the crime occurred Wednesday morning, when someone forced their way into the Hammers Tactical Gun Shop at 1220 South Clinton Street.Two firearms were stolen in the incident.And following an investigation by Defiance Police, the MAN unit, and agents with the department of Alcohol-Tobacco and Firearms three people were taken into custody.

A 17 year old male is being held at the NorthwestOhioJuvenileDetentionCenter pending charges of Breaking and Entering, along with Theft of a Firearm.Charges of Receiving Stolen Property have been filed against 22 year old Alyssa Montez of Defiance, and 18 year old Anthony Hall of Defiance.Montez was transported to CCNO, and also a holder for a probation violation.These cases will be presented to the Defiance County Grand Jury for consideration of charges.
