Some residential and retail development projects will get a boost in the city of Napoleon. Napoleon City Council approved the first reading on resolutions for community reinvestment areas for two residential developments: the JanMar properties plan to construct villas at the former West School property, and the other is for the apartment complex expansion along Trail Drive. The residential CRA will aid the business planned for just off Wood Drive that would bring a Stop and Go store to Napoleon. The CRA’s are for a 50% tax abatement.
Napoleon Council authorized the sale of video and recording equipment to Napoleon Area Schools.
And before the regular meeting Monday, Napoleon Council presented service awards to two men from the police department. Mike Foreman served as patrolman for 23 years, and Vic Engel was part of the auxiliary police force for 38 years.
