FATAL CRASH IN HENRY COUNTY WEDNESDAY NIGHT

The Henry County Sheriff’s office investigated a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday evening in Harrison Township.    Sheriff Mike Bodenbender reports a semi rig operated by 29 year old Craig Greene of Ashville, North Caroline was attempting to turn his unit around at the intersection of state route 110 and county road 7.   The semi and trailer were stretched across both lanes of route 110, when an eastbound SUV drove onto the scene at 7:50pm last night.   The SUV was driven by 57 year old Sandra Crandall of Napoleon, and struck the left side of the truck, becoming partially lodged underneath.  Sandra Crandall suffered critical injuries in the collision, and was pronounced dead at the scene.  A passenger, 56 year old Laura Brown of Napoleon suffered serious injuries, and was transported by Life Flight to St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.   Damascus Township Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.

Another injury crash was investigated on U.S. 24 Wednesday afternoon, when a vehicle went out of control on slick conditions on the highway, striking the guardrail.  29 year old Justin Hauser of Grover Hill was injured, and transported to the Henry County Hospital by Liberty Rescue.

The Henry County Sheriff’s office investigated a break-in at property along township road 17-E in Freedom Township at 11:26am yesterday.

And Napoleon Police made an arrest around 4:30pm Wednesday, when 38 year old Timothy Croninger of McClure was charged with Theft, and was also wanted on a warrant from Defiance County.  Croninger was transported to the regional jail.
