NAPOLEON COUNCIL APPROVES SW. POOL ISSUE TO BALLOT

The final resolution to place a bond issue on the ballot for a new swimming pool complex was passed unanimously by Napoleon City Council Monday night.  The 1.9 mill bond issue is proposed for a 20 year period, and will be up for a vote in the May special election.  Council passed the measure so the public would get a chance to vote on the issue.

A third and final reading was approved by Napoleon Council to provide funding to the Henry County CIC for economic development.  It’s a slight decrease and matches other cuts across the board due to a tight budget this year.

Napoleon Council approved issuing notes to finance the 2.4 million dollar improvement project at the water treatment plant.

Council approved the recommended job description for a new finance director in Napoleon to replace Greg Heath.  Applications are being accepted through January 25th.

And Napoleon Council is working on an agreement with AMP to provide maintenance for the electric substation recently sold to American Municipal Power.   Napoleon would be paid for that maintenance contract.
