TRANSPORTATION GRANT AWARDED TO HENRY COUNTY

With the Henry County Transportation Network likely to expand into Fulton and Defiance counties in the years ahead, ODOT approved an increase in funding for the Henry County agency.   The 2019 grant is for well over $300,000, which will help Henry County purchase 10 new vehicles.  That will include 8 modified minivans for wheel chairs, and 2 12-passenger busses with wheel-chair capability.   The funds will also help pay for maintenance and operational costs for the fleet.

Transportation Director Mike Saneholtz reports he has received inquiries from the Fulton County Health Center, Job and Family Services, and the Fulton County Board of DD, to help transport clients for them.    Defiance County has also reached-out for help in setting up satellite locations for a transportation network.
