Napoleon City Council has taken a stand on a political issue facing the Buckeye State. By unanimous vote, council is strongly opposing state issue 1, which would minimize the penalty for drug possession across Ohio.
Napoleon Council also passed the second reading on an ordinance to raise sanitary sewer rates by 5%.
Council is also backing a proposal to limit use of the Napoleon Yard Waste Site to city residents, and companies that are city refuse customers. Anyone outside the city that would like to use the site could purchase a pass.
Napoleon Council is moving forward with a grant application to make improvements on Oakwood Avenue. There is up to 2 million dollars available; but the city would have to contribute 5 to 10% of the cost. That grant application is due March 1st.
