DEFIANCE COMMISSIONERS DISCUSS WATER SOURCE

The Defiance County Commissioners met Monday with officials from Williams and Fulton Counties, along with Indiana and Michigan governmental agencies to talk about a study of the Michindoh Aquifer.  The U.S. Geological Survey submitted a proposal to study the quantity of water in this underground source.   There was also discussion about setting up a board from all three states to monitor use of the aquifer’s water.

Defiance County Recorder Cecilia Parsons is seeking help from commissioners in purchasing a property fraud alert system, so landowners would be notified if a document is filed with their name or property.

And highway department crews in Defiance County are working on a road alignment project at the bridge on Watson Road.  A widening project is also underway on Canal Road.
