WATER PARTNERS GROWING IN NW OHIO

The list of communities interested in joining together for a new fresh water source is growing.  7 entities are working on a cooperative agreement, and have applied to the Ohio EPA for permission to drill test wells into the Michindoh Aquifer.   That aquifer is the major water source for communities in Williams and Defiance Counties.              Participants in the cooperative agreement for water include Liberty Center, the Henry County Regional Water and Sewer District, Whitehouse, Sylvania, Perrysburg, Maumee, and Wood County’s Northwest Water and Sewer District.            They hope to get approval from the EPA in the next two months.  Liberty Center is currently under contract with city of Napoleon to supply water into 2020.
