2 IN CUSTODY FOR OVERNIGHT SHERWOOD BURGLARY

Two subjects are in custody following an overnight burglary in the village of Sherwood.  The Defiance County Sheriff’s office responded to a call of a ‘burglary in progress’ in the 500 block of North Harrison Street in Sherwood at 11:24pm Thursday.  The investigation revealed two people had forced their way into the residence, brandishing a knife.   The suspects fled before law officers arrived; but they were apprehended a short time later.

The arrest included 19 year old Dominick Pickles of Sherwood, and 21 year old Jenise Winnie of Sherwood.    Both defendants were charged with Aggravated Burglary, and transported to the regional jail.  The case will be presented to the Defiance County Prosecutor for possible additional charges.  Dominick Pickles was transported to the Defiance Regional Medical Center with injuries; but was treated and released.  Sherwood EMS assisted at the scene.
